  • Colonies consist of a collection of long slender sandy tubes (up to 5cm long) each containing a single zooid and connected basally.
  • Clumps of zooids characteristically hang from the ceiling of overhangs or rocky ledges within the intertidal zone.
  • Siphon short with lobes, branchial sac with 6-7 rows of up to 32 stigmata per row.
  • Stomach wall with 10-12 irregular fold.
  • Posterior abdomen very long with ova anterior to male follicles.
  • Developing embryos and larvae in oviduct.
